J's Chimes: Welcome Aboard The AFA Bus...

Seems like preps for the coming Anime Festival Asia 2011 is well under way and ads have started appearing in all shapes and sizes... Yep, even to our transportation vehicles. Seems like they Ita buses to advert this event. Hopefully this is gonna be good too because this is also the very first AFA event in which I've bought tickets to watch the concert. A pretty hefty price I must say but it well worth it with all the famous idols coming to Singapore for the concert.

AFA will be held in Singapore on the 11 November 2011, an auspicious day indeed for many people around the world to get married too... Well that's what they believe... In any case, 111111 also marks the launch of a much awaited game by Illusion soft too which may excite lots of fans around the world too... Not gonna spoil it so soon so wait for more updates later on...

The Anime Festival Asia is back once again and am so looking forward to it. Reason being that I've also bought the tickets for the concert. Though it cost a bomb, I guess it's worth it once in a while since this event only happens once a year. AFA 2011 will commence from 11 Nov to 13 Nov 2011 and am hoping it be the best out of the other 3 years previously. And of course, that includes purchasing of more models and anime in that coming event...

Am also looking forward to Hatsune Miku's concert which will happen on the 11 Nov 2011. Heard it be the same as the 3D projection performance that took place back in Sapporo Japan recently too. Still, there's about a month away from all the excitement so trying to contain myself for the time being and update more of AFA when it's closer. So J's Chimes is finally back... And had so much to talk about now about animations and stuff because 5 months + had gone by... And of course, the coming new season is fast approaching with all of this season's anime ending soon. Coming season would probably be a blast with many good animes like Shana, Fate and Persona airing. Of course there are none other than all time faves Working, Bakuman, etc. Can't wait to watch the other animes coming up soon too.

Lots of OVAs and specials also coming up next season which includes Kimi Ni Todoke, Seitokai Yakuindomo and such... I am so already filled with much of animes to watch this season and hopefully would still be able to catch up soon for the ones coming next season. Anyway, J's Chimes will start off soon by looking back into animes we enjoy from the present to the past so stay tune for more updates...

It's been 5 months since J's Chimes had stopped posting and entered a long hiatus all thanks to the new change of lifestyle am in now. Yep, university is finally over and getting ready to step out to the real world... I believe many would had thought that J's Chimes is long gone, but somehow it's the beginning of a new platform that I would be creating. After much consideration, I had decided to start a new group named 'Japanimation Themes' in Facebook. This new group will focus on all the Japanese anime opening and ending themes from the past till now. It may take a while to fully make this operational but it is under way. Nevertheless, J's Chimes will not be shutdown and would probably be link to the new group depending on circumstances. We do hope that you could join us when the time comes... Watch out for new updates...

J's Chimes: Failed Toys...

One of the many reason why toys shipped to Singapore has to be checked other than its lead content and whether it should be safe for kids to play with... However, some toys really are extreme in a sense that they might look innocent but turns out to be really wrong...

Does that reminds you of the Nazi from world war 2? This toy would definitely cause some stir among people...

Just as the package said... But why the heck is it for Ages 5 and up?

Does that look like something that adults would think of? And best of all, it glows too...

Innocent but deadly... Imagine having kids to fiddle with that thing while playing with this cuddly toy... With a bonus to squirt too!

The best ultimate failed toy... Ok, so the toy is named Zorro but why the heck is Batman in the picture? I can explain the horse by the side but this is ridiculous... What's worse is that the action figure is Spiderman instead... Epic win!

J's Chimes: Gantz In Singapore...

It is strange that the live action movie Gantz is still not yet showing in Singapore due to the fact that it has already been out for quite a long time. Heard that Malayysia is already showing it i the movie screens on the 7th April. However though the movie does have some critics and such because of the massive censorship that that might added in. Not to mention the extreme gore content and violence in the manga. Whether or not it is truly devoted to the manga no one is ever sure unless we watch it. But seriously Gantz has already gone to greater heights and change of storyline in the latest episode of the manga series... This movie is just the beginning of a much more terrible story later on....

J's Chimes: To Japan Or Bust...

With all that's happening right now in Japan, it is truly a tough decision for people like us not to go to Japan. Have always dream of going there since my childhood days but it seems like it's not possible now. The question now is would you still go to Japan even after this incident? Yup, I would probably be going there in a few years time and hopefully the situation gets better soon... Let's pray that Japan will be able to stand up again after this incident.

A nice way of learning Japanese is by doing something really whacky to keep it stuck to your brain. One such is by rapping some seriously lame song with numbers as the lyrics in Japanese. Even so it does help you to remember a couple of it. Anyway you can learn a bit of Japanese from this website here which created this video. Well it does help a bit but at least they're teaching you Japanese for free...

J's Chimes: Fukushima Now A Ghost Town...

The bustling city of Fukushima has now become nothing more of a ghost town since the incident of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant. One would wonder how long will this land be free of radiation again after the cleanup but it would probably be years and maybe decades for it to happen. Past Chernobyl photos have given us an idea of what really happens when the town is contaminated with radiation. Thus it is saddening that such would also be happening to Fukushima too...

Stores and shophouses are shut down and abandon... Eerily quiet at this time of day...

Abandon household items and kitchen... Looks like people evacuated in a rush and leave unnecessary items behind.

What used to be a sink has now been long forgotten and be un-use for many years to come...

Furniture in disarray and stuffs lying on the floor... Shows pretty much panic from the owners who's in a rush to evacuate the place...

A lonely stool in the middle of town... Looks like the vending machine will not be use for a long time now...

Poultry and farms are abandoned... Livestock are gone and would probably be un-salvageable anymore...

J's Chimes: Weird Flavors Of Kit Kat

Only in Japan will you be able to see common products in not so common flavors in stores. Take this watermelon flavored Kit Kat for example... The only Kit Kat we would commonly see in our stores are chocolate and also strawberry flavor.

However the flavors doesn't stop there and even weirder flavors are introduced instead... Heard of baked potato flavored Kit Kat?

The flavors didn't end just yet... There's also a Soy Sauce flavored Kit Kat... Oh man this is seriously weird... Would you eat Kit Kat with a seasoning used in food?

For coffee lovers, there's even an Espresso Kit Kat... The funny thing is why isn't it available in Singapore...

The 'Start Of Year' cosplay event continues again this coming Saturday at the Ngee Ann Poly Convention Center. Due to certain reason this event has been pushed back to April this year but it seems like this event has become larger than ever with more bigger sponsors to boot. Old advertisements for the classic console game Nintendo sure looks kinda weird and exaggerated thanks to the advancement of technology now. looking back, such commercials are what's cool from before but may look a bit lame for the audiences and customers now that the next generation consoles are dominating the markets. However those are the days where games are of originality and style unlike modern games now that copies one another and targeting what the customers really want and I would believe most of it are action pack games...

Imagine bringing this back to the past... It will surely dominate the classic Nintendo many times over... Trule a big gap in power, graphics and whatever may be for the gameplay....

J's Chimes: New Animes Coming Near You...

It's already that time of the year again... Yup, you guessed it... New animes are coming up this Summer from March to May. Plenty of nice animes that am so eager to watch and look forward to including Kampfer, Dog Days, Hanasaku Iroha, etc, etc. This season is really gonna be a blast just like last Autumn (HOTD). In fact I do believe that this season's animes are probably the most... Probably due to the upcoming manga ban? So I guess may be producing all they can now before certain stuff takes effect... For example Seikon No Qwaser no doubt. Plentt of OVAs, specials and such are also airing coming season... Looking forward to a great new season of animes coming near you...

J's Chimes: Fractale's Fail Tale...

Anime Fractale ended abruptly with only 11 episodes and a cliffhanging finale that keeps you wondering whether everything's all for naught. Even at the beginning, there were criticism being that Nessa and Phyrne's hair color are supposedly to be purple instead of brown as depict in the manga...

And why are things all for naught? It's be told that the world as we know it is controlled by the fractale system as constructed by 'The Gods' and is crumpling away without rebooting the system. The temple guardians are supposed to reboot the system every thousand years and thus created the key and that's where Phyrne and Nessa comes in.

However some rebels who wanted freedom from the Fractale's control are fighting and preventing such from happening... However in the end, the system is rebooted and many died for naught with nothing being done except to help in getting back Clain's lover... Strange enough but that's what's happening... Well the fact that an end with both main characters back together again is good but somehow or rather the story is blurry...

Alodia Gosiengfiao, a famous cosplayer in Philippines had us all fooled when she said that she's gonna quit cosplaying soon because of studies... And I so thought that she's really gonna quit and such but it turns out to be an April Fools Day joke... darn, can't believe am pwned by someone I don't know as a friend instead of my other friends...

What she really means going back to school was actually cosplaying in Haruhi's school uniform to promote the Suzumiya Haruhi anime in Animax instead... Well, that's one way to advertise something... In any case, Alodia is back in cosplay thank goodness...

Quite often, English is very much misuse in Japan and such has created many hilarious moments for tourists. One such example would be 'Beef Bawl' which supposedly be 'Beef Bowl' instead... The definition for Bawl is to shout or cry. To do that to beef is a little off...

Ok... So 'uncaged' animals are not allowed (Err, is there such a word?)... But what about uncaged bottles, cans and plastic bottles?

Sometimes I wonder what is this trying to advertise or is it a motto or short description for a shop? Wonder what does it have to do with the marshmallow...

Can you really enjoy life with a new socks style? Perhaps tutuanna can help...

I don't know what this shop is trying to say but probably something to do with pink...

A park for foots! Probably a massage parlor but this still gets to me...

There are plenty of interesting animes this season and some of which grabbed our attention like Oniichan no Koto to Puella Magica. A ranking is made among fans for this season nonetheless and yield interesting results. Here are the top 10 animes this season:

Surprisingly, Level E is 3rd on the list... Perhaps of its creative and fresh plot? It's a shame that Oniichan No Koto is rank 7th as I kinda laugh out loud watching this...I guess harem animes are now getting less popular these days which include Infinite Stratos and Kore Wa Zombie... No surprise however that Kimi Ni Todoke is ranked amongst the top because it has always been my favorite ever since...

There are plenty of nice animes last year which captures our hearts and attentions last year. Having said that, there are a couple of animes in which you'd also would recommend to a friend because of its interesting plot or artwork. Thus here are some of the popular animes that are most talked that would be recommended to all:

J's Chimes: Anime Papercrafts

I do not know what computer program is used for making these papercraft works but it looks amazing nonetheless and serioulsy would require lots of work just to make a model. An example would be as shown above where Holo from spice and wolf is being experimented on...

And the results? Looks pretty much like a Nendoroid except that it's made of paper instead... Didn't know paper could be bend in this manner and still looks good...

Though at times upon closer inspection ya could see the bend and blocks of folded areas of the papercraft works...

However, simple ones like these are cute enough and looks pretty well done despite some imperfect edges here and there...

I guess Hatsune Miku is my favorite once again and it reminds me of the Nendoroids that I have...

More detailed ones like these required more folding and designing techniques. I believe some of which could be sold in Japan. And even more detailed ones could reach the level of scale models live size figures like the previous post on Link Papaercraft...

J's Chimes: QB Rules Again...

Apparently, this little creature gains popularity once again for all the wrong reason and started appearing in other commercial areas like in the military. It's terror did not ends here and plenty of artists begin drawing pictures that would somehow or rather help unsatisfied fans in stress relieving.

As always, Homura wants to rid of the Kyubey from his evil deeds. An body full of holes is nice though it still have the ability to regenerate again...

Looks like a mini game where you could kill Kyubey all over again with your trusty pistol.

More Homura action for those who just can't get enough of QB killing... Seriously, it is one of the most hated fluffy animals in an anime and not any other that I could think of that is beyond this limit...

This reminds me of the ancient Chinese monster called Nian that visits the village for food (Children) and the villages thought of a way to scare it off by creating loud sounds using the firecrackers and such... However this is replaced by the magical girls killing the QB... If only I could find that picture so that a comparison could be made...

Besides Sucker Punch, a Japanese movie also debuts just recently on the 24 March 2011. Titled Space Battleship Yamato, this classic anime is now given the live action treatment by none other than the famous Takuya Kimura from the popular show Absolute Boyfriend, etc. Wanted to catch this movie somehow but was caught up with Sucker Punch at the moment....

It's not an everyday thing animes become live action directed by Japan themselves. in any case this is much better than Hollywood's Dragonball and such.

Link from the Legend Of Zelda has been made into a life-size papercraft by someone who has plenty of free time at home... This amazing work which stands just as tall as a person, is very detailed and seems pretty stunning that it's made totally of paper...

A closer inspection reviews that a wire mesh is used to build a frame of link and then later covered with paper. The details goes down to even the hair and the clothes that he's wearing...

Amazingly the armor that Link is wearing is seemingly as detailed as well... Somehow it makes me wonder how it is done...

Looks cool in all directions. Even the sword shed is engraved to detail...

Back in those days where Japanese animes are not a very common thing in television programmes, cartoons from the US are a norm and airs at various times of the day. One such classic cartoons am fond of that time is none other than Tiny Toon Adventures back when I was little. One nice example of this funny cartoon is this episode where parodies of music are made...

'It's In His Kiss' is a popular oldies song that was also sung by Cher in her music album. However so, a parody is made which is extremely funny... None of these sort of cartoon now exist in the present day now...

This ones my personal favorite. Another oldies song titled 'Do You Love Me' by the Contours. Though they make i a little funny with this video. Worth to watch... perhaps ya should Youtube more for it...

J's Chimes: Something's Amiss...

It's already been a week since the horrible disaster that took place in Japan. Much of the stuffs in Japan are still on a standstill which includes our animes, products and such that we so loved... Guess we really took things for granted already and now without them, something really feels amiss with much of the animes still canceled and products being postponed to a later launch date. Not only that, my dreams of going to Japan may be shattered because of what's happening now... Seriously do not know how long Japan would take to recover from this but I do hope that things will be better soon so that I may visit this country that we loved so much thanks to none other than our hobbies...

J's Chimes: Anime Losses...

Amidst the disaster, much of people's properties are either ruin, destroyed or entirely swept away... it is truly a sad sight to see all of which you've bought using your hard earned money gone down the drain in a matter of minutes... The biggest damages are buildings, products, belongings and even victims of the disaster. The losses we'd zoom in on now are the toys and hobbies of which we loved...

People in cities like Tokyo are fortunate enough at least though as their models came crashing down and broke during the earthquake. However much of the rare collectibles are now retired as it bashes onto the ground into pieces... Not a friendly sight for us who collect models too...

Harder hit areas like Sendai are however aren't so fortunate... Having those belongings that you cherished so much being washed away isn't really a good sight... Here lies a bunny with a soccer ball lying in the middle of a rubble of what seems to be a shop.

Even Doraemon can't do anything about this natural disaster though he's a multi-purpose robot cat... It is quite sad to see these toys scattered around... Those childhood memories and the wonderful town that they live in are now in total ruins...

Even Itasha cars are not spared from this disaster. A yellow ribbon is tied onto the door which is said that the body found in it was collected already. My hearts go out to our fellow comrade here. An Itasha of Mio from K-On!... really wasted...

J's Chimes: Cancelations Galore...

With the disaster that struck Japan, it seems like many things will inevitably be canceled from this month on. From products to television programmes that we all loved very much, it is only now that we appreciate them and take it for granted. Some examples are as shown below:

Animes

Yup, it's nerve wrecking to say this but this season's animes are mostly put on hold now due to the disaster. Even the infamous QB is put on hold in tormenting the magical girls...

Food Products

Mad rush for Japanese products can be seen in Japan to stockpile on food supply. Not to mention other neighboring countries like Hong Kong and China are all in a frenzy to purchase all available Japanese products now in bulks. The situation looks pretty dire... Many countries are dependent on Japan for their products so with the shortage of these, high chances that food prices would increase dramatically...

Miscellaneous Products

From Eroge to Mangas, appliances and electronics, seems like they will all be canceled or postponed to a later launch date and such. With such, imports and exports are grim and low... So we might probably have to wait a while for these to return...

Events and Conventions

Even Ishihara's approval for a Tokyo Anime Fair 2011 is inevitably canceled due to this situation. It is without fail that the Anime Contents Expo will see the same fate as TAF2011... Not to mention the other upcoming festivals like cosplays, animes and manga conventions...

Other

It is however unclear that if the Japan Manga Ban would still take effect in a few months time after this unfortunate incident. Hopefully the disaster would be taken highest priority instead of something like this that can help contribute to the economic. Other cancellations would also include flights to Japan. For now, let's hope for the best that Japan could stand up once again once this situation is over...

With the nuclear crisis looming dangerously in grief-stricken Japan, all heads turn to the topic of what's gonna happen to Japan in the future to come. Am seriously sad that this had to happen but there's little one could do to avert this from happening. I really do hope the situation gets better soon, else all our worse fears will come... Japan is a wonderful place with wonderful people, may God protect them from harm.

The popular manga known as One Piece which is enjoyed by both teens and adults alike now makes its way to the trains and stations of Japan. Seems like the craze wasn't really over yet with adverts and manga of One Piece all over it.

Not to mention having certain memorable parts of the manga pasted on the walls of the trains. Seen plenty of advertisements in our trains before but not something like this...

Posters are even erected at train stations about this popular manga. Darn, if I've known that One Piece is this popular, I would have read the manga...

When there's Mastercard, there's always an anime version of it somewhere in Japan. Called the Flower Master Card, supposedly used for purchasing of anime products and stuff at a store or something or maybe a videogame machine much like Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade. Looks pretty awesome doubt it be use for miscellaneous purchases of foreign products not related to anime...

Only just notice that the Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade game is out in the video game centers. However much to my dismay, it cost a whooping $2 for a game... Kinda expensive though so am putting on hold first till it drops or that am prepared to play it...

Lots of posters and ads for this game somehow but it doesn't seem to be popular though... Didn't really see a crowd over there playing this... Perhaps my intuition is right... It is just too expensive...

Darn... I so wanna play this but somehow there's a huge crowd nearby watching other games so am overwhelmed... Especially so when ya have yet to play this game and everyone will watch ya play some crazy shit and lose horribly...

Basically it's kinda the same as Guitar Heroes or Dance Dance revolution or whatever ya might call it where ya try to sync your hits on the screen given... Except that this is given the Vocaloid mix and dance which looks really kinda cool. Ya can even buy the card to save your progress a SGD$7 each. Kinda expensive too if I do say so myself... And I wonder what does it have in stalled...

It has a headphone jack too in the middle so ya could insert your earpiece and hear the songs yourself which is kinda nice for privacy. Perhaps I should try it out soon and start givin some reviews soon... sigh, if only I can on this machine though...

Too big a news to not post... It seems our fellow comrades have met with devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunamis engulfing cities and ports. It is really saddening for such a disaster to happen but there's really nothing we could do to stop mother nature from taking its course. However what we could do is to help is by donating to these various organizations from the link here.

Tsunamis from the coastal areas reached mainland and swept everything in its path...

Refineries are set ablaze when the earthquake struck and ignite the fuels...

Small towns and cities are totally submerged in water...

The devastation resulted in tons of debris scattered all around the area. Rescue operations would be dampen and so would be the cleanup...

Coastal areas become a sea of mud and debris with nothing left but destruction in its path...

J's Chimes: Nendoroid Hatsune Miku

The other Nendoroid in which I so adore would be the Orchestra Version of Hatsune Miku. My friend bought it for me and I would really like to take this opportunity to thank him for that. In any case, this Nendoroid has gone up for grabs for as high as SGD$99 so it's pretty popular among fans and such...

And for some reason or another, her sleeves are made bigger to cover her chibi hands. Looks cute nonetheless and what's even more amazing that it has more joints than other Nendoroids on her arms, elbow, legs, etc so you could actually twist and turn to make more poses for her in anyway ya want.

the drums are the first thing I would wanna pose Miku with... So I got her to wear her sunglasses and stick her leet on both her chibi hands. Looks pretty cool with her playing the drums with vegetables.

Got her to play the keyboard just like Mugi from K-On! and gave her a new face-lit. Oops... forgot to roll up her sleeves though... But what the heck, this looks good still...

Somehow, 2 keyboards are provided for this Nendoroid and comes with black and grey. Guess Miku is spoiled for choice as to what to play on...

A loudhailer is even provided too... Just gonna change her looks and now it looks... strange...

Finally got to roll up her sleeves. Miku now plays with her recorder (English Flute) which is also provided in this Nendoroid series... It's kinda small though but manage to have her grab onto it...

My favorite would be this USB, VGA, 'whatever you might call it' attachment onto Miku's headphones. Reminds me of animes like Hand Maid May and the likes...

J's Chimes: Nendoroid Kirino Kousaka

Finally had the chance to open up my Nendoroids that Ive bought last week. And I must say am pretty happy with the Kirino Nendoroid. Darn... not only the anime's good, the model isn't bad either. I just had to get this because of a certain pose that she has that I fell in love with...

Even when she goes all Tsundere, Kirino still looks pretty cute nonetheless... The theme song of Ore No Imouto kept playing on my head while taking photos of her. It's just too hard to resist her cuteness...

Love this shot a lot... Shows her cute angry face which often appears with her arms folded when talking to her brother... Must be tough for Kyosuke though...

Yup... This face of extreme happiness caught my attention as to purchasing hr immediately without much consideration. Too darn cute to resist and too tempted to take as much photos of it as possible before finding her a new place to display...

Love this shot the most... The feeling of extreme happiness is just too err... indescribable. Just too good and makes my day...

Go figures... Kirino's always happy when she purchased her new Imouto eroge... Didn't paste the eroge cover stickers onto that piece of plastic she's holding though. Original is still best so as to avoid wear and tear of it...

Kirino's happiness just gets to you... Perhaps am going to interchange her smiley face onto other Nendoroids and see what I can get out of the other characters...could be fun to watch...

Lucky Star now joins in the fray with QB being the most unlucky little devil to meet Kagami.

QB now even invades Touhou with Flande Scarlet confused that QB approached her. Simply because she's a Magical Girl already...

Gosick's Victorique is also visited by the uncanny QB. I guess Kazuya Aoi met with his match soon...

2 new Nendoroids found their way to my house this week and can't wait to take pictures of it soon... However I've totally ran out of display areas for them. The 2 new Nendoroids I've got this week were Kirino Kousaka and Hatsune Miku yet again with her musical instruments. Probably one of the best Nendoroids I've got this year...

Kirino is a definite must get for the popular anime series Ore No Imouto. Well, every otaku out there loves a girlfriend who loves anime too ya? Its just so cute and irresistible that I just had to grab her...

Once again I've got Hatsune Mikuand and this time, she has her own set of musical instruments to pose around with. Am really eager to open this up but I guess I should put this on hold first due to the fact that I do not have any space left for display yet... Guess I gonna make room for more new Nendoroids pretty soon now...

Many are deceived by its innocent and cute looks but after 9 episodes of the much talked about anime this season Puella Magi Madoka, this little white mascot has become one of the most hated furry animal of all animes you would see... Yes you can indeed fulfill your wishes but the price to pay is indeed great...

The much talked about QB is somehow being used in Japan sales of electronics and stuff for some reason or another... Guess it could be because of its unpopularity, QB is fast becoming an icon of choice for an advertising tool. Perhaps its evil looks could attract customers into buying their products.

Now the anime is also in danger of becoming a much hated anime and may even be cancelled due to extreme contents of cute girls being brutally murdered by witches. With many complaints being made and medias making spotlight of it, the future of this anime seems dim...

It's been so long since I've watch Sailor Moon. Back in the old days, this anime was aired on a mandarin television channel in Singapore. Would watch it from time to time as back then I wasn't really into anime yet. And now this had became a classic which is still a favourite till now. So back in 2006, a live action drama series was made somehow....

And here's the opening introduction of the live action series Sailor Moon... The CG aren't as good though but it was a hit back then in 2006. Well in any case, it's kinda exaggerated in many ways but still cool to watch...

An example of a fight scene can be seen as above. Kinda fancy and funny and pretty much seems like a Power Ranger series... Nevertheless, its kinda nice due after watching a few episodes here and there...

The other event that is also held on the 5 - 6 March this coming weekend will be the Singapore Comifest at the Suntec City Convention Center. Features plenty of cosplays and probably a couple of booths here and there selling some anime stuffs. The question lies is that which will be more worthwhile to go during the weekends. Certainly the JPLEX seems kinda promising but unless you've got a ticket to watch the concert, then it would be good. J's Chimes: Cat's Parody Continues...

With the popularity of this Japanese game hitting an all time high... It seems like more artists are creating more parodies of the game cover for both the PS3 and XBOX360 version. I for one loved the cover design too but never did expect that it could very well go out of hand...

First would be a parody replaced by Hellsing characters and stuff but of the same poses as Catherine. Looks good too nonetheless...

Once again, other unknown animation is drawn with the similar poses from the game cover except with a few twists here and there...

The XBOX360 version however has another design though... But that didn't stop parodies from happening once again for this popular game... Even so, I still prefer the PS3 cover design...

Once again Gintama takes the spotlight with Catherine as the model, Gintoki and Hasegawa as the little man in a somewhat birthday suits and clinging helplessly on her skirt... Perhaps this is really something that may make you puke after comparing it with the real deal...

It's amazing that 2D graphics have achieved a level whereby such artwork made with 3D technology has advance so much... Compared with pictures a decade back, this is certainly stunning in anyway...

Don't really know who made this but it certainly looks real alright... of course I don't mean the face, but the outlining of the fabric from her clothes and even down to the strain of hair on the model. Reminds me of the CG animation movie Final Fantasy The Spirits Within...

Well... whoever says 2D girls aren't nice so think twice now that CG works are getting better and better in future... Even games like those from the Eroge Company Illusion had already made games with CG engines and 3D ready... Perhaps holograms would be a dream come true too...

I for one find this little toy pretty amusing and sushi making fans might probably like... Seems that some company decides to make sushi making into a little toy in which many could play with. It's pretty amazing how ya can make such stuff using just water and the powder given. However the case, these are none edible because of its chemical content... Nonetheless, it does look appealing even though its rather small... Such toys would probably not last because of what it's made off... Perhaps just for a short entertainment sake...

And here ya got Nagato solacing Rin... Perhaps Archer breaks her heart again for some apparent reason or another. Nevertheless, its cute to have Nendoroids dispaying facial expressions such as this.

Seems like Miku joins in the fray with Fate to kill Kyon... That is seriously some crazy mix of animations ya got there... Wonder where does Miku got her sword... Poor Kyon, killed with a smile on both his murderer's faces...

What do you get when you mix Kaito's dressing with Miku? Looks pretty cool though and makes me wanna do the same to my Nendoroids too... Didn't really tried mixing and match with their parts before and would probably do so some time...

Gundam and Zaku battles it out on a somewhat weird location where even the coffee table is not spared from the fight. Perhaps the tea is too hot for them to enjoy...

It's a revolution I tell ya... You may never know what happens to your models when leave unattended... They make very likely prepare for war with Fate and Nanoha in command...

And meanwhile, Lelouch is once again spoted doing some lewd things once again by kidnapping girls and exposing their pantsu for our viewers to see... talk about fan service...

Yotusba will become the next generation stormtroopers that will take over the galaxy...

Miku Kick proves fatal on just about every guy's privates. Never mess with the Vocaloids no matter how strong you may be...

And finally, Haruhi can't take Lelouch's betrayal anymore and decides to shoot herself... A shocked Lelouch watch her lying motionlessly on the ground with a smile on her face...

J's Chimes: Scale Models Taking A Break Part 1

Scale models are still humans and they do take a break from all that tiresome posing too in your display cabinets and cases. And some of their owners will then probably do some amazing tricks and stuff with them which is downright hilarious and a brand new way of playing with your models and figurines... And so you have lelouch doing his thing while watching something as censored in this photo above...

On the backstage, Lucky Star characters do hate their own counterparts and you could even see some of them fighting for no apparent reason. And there ya see the twins laughing and taking photos of poor Konata...

Oh no! Ultraman is set ablaze by an intense inferno as emitted by Haruhi... And exactly from her butt... Morale of story? Never eat something hot and spicy...

Dinner is never moody with Reimu and Marisa... I just love it when they use Nendoroids for such instances... Pretty cute and nice.

And what will you get if you decide to piece up every single piece onto a Busou Shinki model? Not at all a pretty sight but probably a monstrosity... And just when ya thought it is supposed to be cool...

Rayman Rabbid decides to become a diva too together with the Idolmaster Girls... Somehow or rather, his fur blends with their costumes...

It's already a bit redundant to own 2 similar scale models. But a few hundred of them? And all of the same pose and looks... damn this looks creepy... Perhaps the owner wants a harem of girls to conquer the world...

It will be nice f your scale models or figurines decides to help you with the household chores. And here ya see Nagato beating some err... sweets for dinner?

It's kinda nice to mix your Nendoroids with other characters from different animes. And here ya have Binchotan and Nagato to spice up this awkward scene that supposed to be Kyon's part for staring at Nagato.

It's sometimes nice to have an artistic view of Saber with the house chandelier. Hmmm... Maybe I should do so too when I have the chance to...

Episode 7 of the famous ecchi anime Oniichan No Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara Ne (I don't love my brother at all) comes as a surprise to me due to the fact that the opening theme song is replace with an English song titled 'What Is Love?' sung by Haddway. I truly did not edit this as this is what's really being aired in this latest episode...

The original opening theme song title Taste of Paradise can be view here as shown above. Still can't get used to the surprising theme song for episode 7 but somehow its unique in a way or another...

And the original song 'What Is Love?' sung by Haddway can be viewed here. Retro songs MTVs are weird in some sense or another. I guess we are living in the 21st century now that's why...

Perhaps the most shocking one was the ending theme of Oniichan No Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara Ne being replace with Lady Gaga's Bad Romance... With no apparent reason at all, this however seems pretty nice and strange for it to appear in an anime such as this. Not that I want to complain because it seems pretty cool in a way or another...

And this would be the original theme song for the ending credits of Oniichan No Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara Ne. Suddenly this song seems so cute as to compare to after hearing Lady Gagas voice... It's kinda hard to adapt back now lol...

The original MTV of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance can be viewed as above. So much more different than I would expect so why the heck is it suddenly put into this anime as an ending theme song is truly a mystery...

J's Chimes: Black Rock Shooter

An ordinary day indeed last Saturday for me until I received a mail that had won a prize for a draw and any ordinary kid would just go 'wahhh' in such circumstances. Known as Hobby Frontier, this online shop specializes in selling merchandises like scale models, figurines to anime goodies, etc. It comes as a surprise for me to won something on the net because I never did before in my entire life. Anyway, a special thanks to the people of Hobby Frontier for this amazing prize.

Received it yesterday evening and I must say, it's a little bgger than I would expected it to be. I saw this model being displayed in the Anime Festival Asia X convention held last year and was pretty much drawn by it... But because of its hefty prize tag, there's really nothing I could do unless I decided to crack more of my piggy banks.

Retails at around SGD$150 and above, this cannon version of Black Rock Shooter is probably one of the nicest scale models I'd ever seen. However it makes me ponder whether to get Gold Saw and Dead Master. Like any excited kid, first things first is to open up the box and play with the model...

This 1/8 scale model comes in 5 different parts namely the Rock Cannon, BRS herself, a unique base of a broken chunk of flooring, a chain and an interchangeable hair for her blue flame that runs in her eye. Sometimes its weird that the cannon is even larger than her body size... So how the heck is she able to use it as a weapon?

Had to use a bit of lighting to brighten up the figure for a photoshoot. In this case a warm light from a table lamp I found in storage for a long time... It sure brightens up certain areas alright...

Looks pretty impressive nonetheless and made me photo trigger happy. It's been awhile since there isn't really much anime conventions at this time of year.

J's Chimes: Catherine Parody...

This puzzle solving genre game titled Catherine had certainly been set sights by artists around to create a parody of it. I had yet to played this game before but from what I'd heard is that the puzzles are certainly difficult as hell and even the most veteran players couldn't very much complete it with ease. Leaving at that, the game cover is used to create something similar with other anime characters...

The very first would be from the anime Gintama where Hasegawa Taizou is being gobbled by Catherine's blossom... Perhaps a bit worse than the Catherine in the game... The cover and design totally resembles the one above except the looks are more hideous...

I totally had no idea what this anime is but it seems like a fan art or something with the exact similar poses but of different characters and name... Perhaps this looks to be the most pleasant of the ones above without a doubt. Who wouldn't want to be cupped in between a girl's blossom? But beware... both Catherines above are demons if ya haven't already know what their characteristics are...

It's quite rare to see models posing with scale models of the very same kind. And even more rare to see a model cosplaying the exact same costume as Suzumiya Haruhi and her black bunny suit. Even better is that she looks about the same as her toy counterparts...

Whoever says 3D is bad should reconsider this... seriously... Perhaps this would change much of your thoughts...

Unfortunately the popularity of Suzumiya Haruhi has been dwindling ever since the new season's animes are up. Probably much of the fans now look up to Kirino Kousaka and other animes airing now... Maybe if you're fortunate enough, someone may just cosplay as this in some conventions happening around the world...

Its bound to happen that the famous board game of all would come into anime customizations with the help of Touhou fan artists. Nicely done I must say and could even be used as a real Monopoly game board... Just simple click on the picture to enlarge and print it out. lol.

Monopoly has certainly come a long way and had most certainly played it when I was a kid. Though the original board looks like this, Monopoly has come into collaboration with many popular titles such as Star Wars to Transformers to create a board game of such. Well whatever the case, the Touhou version kinda looks nice...

With the success of other zombie or apocalyptic games like Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising to Dead Space, it seems like a new type of survival horror game is in the works somehow. Titled Dead Island, the apocalypse now takes place on an island resort. Not much other details are given though expect that this would be another FPS game.

It is yet unclear when will this game be release but it would be the next best thing in zombie warfare after Left 4 Dead. Hopefully, there would be more reviews on such in the coming days ahead.

Once again the much dreaded Valentine's Day has come once again to haunt all singles out there and making people like us emo for the next 14hrs (Time may differ from different countries...) So what the heck could you do to make this a pleasant day without worrying over something like this? Perhaps this 10 tips may help you...

1. Stay Home, Stay Home And Stay Home

Perhaps the most effective way of not getting all emo is to stay at home... Valentine's Day is definitely not a day for singles to be walking around crowded streets filled with loving, hugging couples. There is no temptation at home, only your own stuff to keep you from having crazy thoughts.

2. Play A Game, Surf The Internet, Watch Some Videos

Things like playing a game or just surfing the internet for your favourite stuff might keep you from thinking about Valentine's Day. Time flies when you do just that and you'd realize that there are some things better than V. Day... Spoil yourself and play for longer hours to keep yourself occupied...

3. Avoid The News Or Any Other Forms Of Media On This Day...

I for so am 100% sure that something in regards to Valentine's Day would be aired on tv or any other forms of media, whether it is the news or some advertisements. Voice over or dubbing isn't an easy task than what you guys would think it is and especially so if it's a pornographic film. Not only do you need to find an appropriate voice actor or actress for the job, you'd need to prepare a script for them and also to timed the recordings for each part due so that the film's lip moments tend to match with the dubs whatsoever... The worse would be the emotions and feelings to be taken to consideration when acting on certain parts...

The differences between dubbings and subbings would probably be obvious due to the fact where subs are only a translation of a certain language in the show into subtitles for us to understand... Whereas dubs would require much more extensive work to be done. Probably the worse type would be to dub in sexual contents where seiyuus would need to act and voice it out... perhaps a shocking video below would explain how its done...

The video below contains scenes of sexual contents so you may wanna refrain from watching if it does offend you in some ways or another...

Shocking as it is, that would probably be how its done... So its is truely amazing what voice actors been through training their voices for such. That's why I really respect them for their really hard work and especially so in animes where exaggerations and emotions can be felt from the actions...

Perhaps the best explanation would be to watch the anime titled Koe De Oshigoto! as it depicts how voice acting of such genres are difficult. Somehow or rather YouTube still have the first episode so you might wanna watch it...

Once again Japan AV Industries decided to copy the anime Mayoi Neko Overrun and make it into an adult film. A rough comparison can be seen as of above and certainly catching the eyes of fans from this anime and genre... Yet again another shima pantsu scene and characters that doesn't seem to match the anime. Not too fond of animes turned 3D and especilly so if its a pron production. 2D animation still looks better nonetheless... With the new season animes out sometime ago with Gosick, Freezing, Yumekui, etc, I would not be surprise if any of those are to become the target of the AV industries yet again soon...

After an amazing Chinese New Year Celebrations, we went to bought a brand new camera for use with casual photography purposes. So as to say, we needed a compact camera besides the Canon EOS550D DSLR... Stumble upon the Samsung ST100 which is very impressive for a compact camera...

And the best part? Probably because of the New Year Celebrations, this camera is sold at a fantastic price of SGD$399... Yup, we did check around various shops and such and found our that it would be normally price at a retail of at least $450 and above and some were sold at SGD$579 instead... The Samsung ST100 is a 14.2 Megapixel camera with a 5X Zoom and touch screen interface. But there's more...

Yup, the Samsung ST100 has a dual screen capability which allows you to take personal shots from the front. Not only that, you can actually view photos from the front too...

And the best of all would be that the interface is complete touchscreen. The camera also has the ability to edit photos too which makes it so useful and amazing. With HD recording ready, it's seriously worth your money...

One of my personal favs is the editing mode. You could edit the picture using the camera directly. Dun like your current shots? How about spicing it up a bit...

A vignetting edit mode for the Samsung ST100. There are a lot of editing features for this camera and it certainly adds value to it. This compact camera could surprising take closeup shoots too clearly like a DSLR so am pretty happy with the results... Time for a little trial run outside...

The next generation portable gaming console known as the NGP, will be the next new thing to be released by Sony later this year. As impressive as it is, the NGP comes wih analog joysticks just like the PS3 controller. It is also a bit bigger than the ordinary PSP and features more resolutions that brings about sharper images and gameplay. However, it is been review that such comes with a price...

The NGP does not allow battery changing and is sealed tight just like the Iphone. With its battery life of 4 - 5 hours , many were concern as it does not seemed to last really long as to compared with the 3DS which has an hour more on top of it. That means that for almost every trip out with your handheld gaming console, you'd need to probably charge it frequently and almost daily for that.

However the NGP does come with many new stuff from touch screen gaming and many more.... Perhaps a short video would describe much more than I could say. Whether or not this will take off successfully depends on how Sony is able to convince the public that its well worth it despite the minor issues being address...

Copyright infringement hits in one of China's Theme Park when it erected a complete copy of the Gundam RX-78-2 in Orange. With such, there were lots of criticism and talks about it in forums and nonetheless actions were taken to take it down... However, instead of disappearing from sight, it seems that it was given a makeover...

The actual 1/1 scale statue of the Gundam RX-78-2 was built in Odaiba as part of Mobile Suit Gundam’s 30th anniversary celebrations back in July last year. And now you could see the total resemblance of it from above.

And so it seems like they got a little creative and began gearing more accessories up... Some even said that it looks like a combination of Mazinger + Zaku with the Gundam Suit... Looks pretty weird... An so the infringement becomes invalid and a new original Gundam is born...

Your left hand is positioned on the Pain Execution Unit. And missing the ball results in different types of pain. You may feel heat, punches or electroshock of varying duration depending where the ball hits. The game ends when one of the players decides that he had enough pain...

A typical design of the PainStation console which is pretty much exaggerated due to its bulky unit just for a pong game... Just when you thought you could get all comfortable wriggling your joystick of your PS3, wait till you try PainStation instead...

I wonder who still wants to play Pong... One fo the most pixellated 2D classic game where you'd prevent the ball from flying out of your court... And when that happens, you get tortured in the process... Not worth it for the pain you'll be experiencing... Perhaps if you are a Sadist or Masochist, this may be something you've been looking for...

The execution unit aren't a pretty sight too... Guess you gonna get burned, electrocuted or beaten up by a machine you will soon come to hate... This game will create riots in a way or another...

And how bad were the wounds...? A little black, bruises and cuts will soon be coming to you soon playing this without fail... So maybe perhaps you might wanna expert this so that you could become a pro in torturing people without the need to do it yourself, but through a friendly little game of Pong...

Once again the popular Survival Horror game titled Dead Space is back with a second installment. Attention getting it is, it's kinda creative in a way as we normally wouldn't thought of something like this for an ad. However due to the fact that it is placed in a seemingly dangerous area where all eyes are watching you groping a signboard...

Putting such at the electronic sensors isn't such a good idea too since people would be walking through the entrance and would be really strange to be caught groping such items in public... perhaps you should navigate to somewhere else safer?

Japanese commercials are rather creative and comedic and tends to get your attention when you watch them. Some of which are so amazingly weird or does have little connection with the actual product itself. However they tickle our funny bones because it's amazingly hilarious and gets people talking...

Even Takuya Kimura is scouted for the Nissin cup noodle commercial. Has a little Indian touch to it and stuff. Singapore should have more of such commercials so as to lighten your day up...

Sometimes I wonder if its just the ice cream or maybe something else which is worth taking a photo... Perhaps both are good in some ways or another...

J's Chimes: Tenga Gets Animated Mascots

Tenga, A company that specializes in making its ona cups or preferably known as masturbatory products, decides to create their very own manga characters as mascots for their products. They even name them Tengirls and for some reason or another, it attracts a couple of attention and probably not many people would know what it is...

Tenga creates a character for each of their products presumably by their names and looks. For example a soft type is depicted from a lolicon character whereas a US Tenga is depicted by a strong women probably because of the products shear size and stuff...

And there's plenty more where that came from with the all new Flip Hole types in 2 colors Black and White... It's amazing how Japan could even turn a product like that into manga girls...

Still don't know what we are talking about? Then take a look at this video and understand what this is about. And if you seriously wanted to have a feel of it, I suggest heading down to Marina Square in a shop known as Cactus where products displayed by people are sold. Try playing dumb and ask what Tenga is to the sales assistants and see what they reply...

Practice makes perfect, and even so if you continue to work on your passion to achieve your goal. No matter how bad it might be, and as you continue to draw and improve, you'll get better eventually. A typical example could be as seen above where some amateur took about 10 years to get fantastic results. (Click On Pictures for a bigger view)

Even babies who drew from the start of age begins to improve over a course of 6 years with what supposedly looks like a bear takes form in the year 2009. And would likely drew better in the near future ahead if his passion is genuine.

An artist I have high respect on because his artwork dramatically improves into a professional level from the year 2007 onwards. And it keeps getting better there after which is shockingly of quality...

This artist already has the talents to draw a good artwork but decides to change his style of drawing throughout the years. You can clearly see it through the details, art form and even from the character's eyes...

This particular artist decides to move on from drawing a still character into something of a more artistic pose and style throughout the years. His first 5 years are mostly portrait pictures which are normal and not till 2006 that he decides to move on experimenting with creative poses to spice up his drawings.

Judging from the artwork, this would probably be the work of a real artist who works in an animation firm. To have such a level of drawing standard certainly shines above the rest of the artists above. Now if only I could draw as well as them...

Tony Taka, a top erotic illustrator who drew for the H games like Sora No Iro Mizu No Iro and Fault! have had his drawings Itasha on Laptops. Costing 150,000 yen or approximately SGD$2346, the specs are more or less sufficient if brought to our country. Comes with 2 designs but would prefer the gothic dress girls a lot more. Tony Taka is also famous for drawings in Shining Wind and it's a shame Xecti wasn't a model in this Laptop Itasha. Well, there are still many ways in which you do get this for cheap... For example printing it out and pasting it on your laptop for the same effect and all or have it done through retail shops which can help print it and make a new cover for your Laptop...

Strangely enough, Final Fantasy XIII is getting a continuation this year as announced by Square Enix. Despite the criticism about the previous game, it seems like they had decided to lay another bet which many fans doubt it would be enough to fully satisfy what they really want. The Final Fantasy Franchise has been wobbly these years due to the fact that the RPG eras have been long gone and FPS have been the hottest in recent years...

Despite all of that, a little introduction video of the new FFXIII-2 is not only visually stunning, but seems kinda fun in some ways or another. However, I would probably wait for the reviews and judgment first before deciding on purchasing anymore Final Fantasy series games...

However if you do not have the photoshop software to make this, there are many other ways to make this too. All you need is MS paint and that's about it. (I did it using MS paint so you don't actually need something so sophisticated for your artistic work...)

Moving to western animations for a change, someone had this crazy idea of blending cartoons with classical artworks to create something extraordinary... Imagine replacing a picture of a child into piglet from the animation Winne The Pooh.

Everyone knows Pepé Le Pew because of his behavior. People ran away from his intense odor because he's a skunk. But never did you expect him to be hugging someone in a classical painting by some ingenious people who drew him over of what supposedly to be a child.

It's kinda weird to have found out that there was actually a Japan version of Spiderman that was aired long time ago. What's even weirder was that in this version, Spiderman has a motorbike just like Kamen Rider and also a giant robot to control and defeat even villains just like the power ranger megazoids. Didn't know Spiderman was so much more high tech and rich the last time but what happens now? Spiderman can't even afford to pay his rents and depicts as a nerdy guy now... Nevertheless, this is a serious classic in which we could all laugh out loud...

It seems like this season's anime theme is coincidentally the same throughout and many fans are criticizing about it in forums about anime originality and that it appeals more towards ronery people. Reason being that most of the animes this season have at least some love romance between a guy and a girl in it or that there are some moe and services for people. Perhaps a new way to start the New Year with some love romance stories to get people in the mood? Nevertheless, am pretty neutral about such comments and am still watching basically all of this season's anime...

The charts are out for last year's top 100 anime characters and surprisingly, much of it goes to either K-On! and Hakuouki. Characters like Suzumiya Haruhi has taken a deep plunge and Kirino from Ore No Imouto is positioned at 28. To view the charts, please click on the picture above to enlarge. One of the funniest commercial I've ever seen in regards to advertising milk. And with an anime twist, this seems somewhat more of a R18 animation than something pure. But nevertheless, it does grab the attention of people that milk is good... Yup, a little too good coming from something else other than cows. Even the farmers are happy.

Been posting a lot of things about Japan lately... But seriously what's happening in Singapore now? Fellow friends from other countries, if you think you'd find anime and stuff in Singapore, am really sorry to say that you'd probably be disappointed with the passion and exposure which is more or less pretty minimal unless there's a anime convention and sorts. But fear not, this hobby is certainly increasing between younger teenagers and audiences in Singapore. So probably let's say that anime would be popular in the future ahead, provided that nothing bad should happen to the industry given the fact that anime will be following the rules and regulations of the law in coming July...

Japan has the most weirdest advertisements ever to be displayed in public which catches the eye of tourists like you and me from other countries... Well whatever the case, it is quite common in Japan and are often useful in a sense that it catches people's attention, laughing out loud and remembering them in the process... A truly awesome marketing strategy to get you thinking...

However some signage are extremely kids unfriendly due to the fact that certain adult-themed signs are being placed out in the streets for viewing... And perhaps maybe some happy-go-lucky tourist will stick their heads into the holes given to take a photo of it... Anyway the text reads 'Zettai Dorei' which basically means Absolute Slave in direct translation...

An ad for a water theme park which features visitors crying out loud at the extreme enjoyment that they are going through... Basically, an exaggerated way of saying that they are having so much fun till they shed tears of excitement...

Some crazy advert cover for an adult-theme pudding which features 2 jelly like substance that's of skin color with an anime girl for the back cover. Feeling hungry? How about sucking up on these 2 err... puddings of joy.

You wouldn't believe that this is actually a pharmacy if you didn't read he sign properly... Perhaps the displays are a bit off topic... extremely off topic I mean... Who would put some gravure idol posters and models in front of a medical shop? Or perhaps maybe they provide other services as well?

J's Chimes: Gashapon Art...

In my previous post about disposing unwanted models, someone actually did mention about microwaving and melting the models. Well in fact, someone actually did it and created something new in the process... However creative it might be, it is kinda creepy in certain ways or another.

Yup, you'd guess it. Try melting a few hundreds or maybe thousands of unwanted Gashapons altogether into a solid block and you might get something new... However the fact that Gashapons are made of plastic and dangerous toxins for the colors made me feel that this is really gonna hurt the planet... I mean by burning plastic, this ain't gonna be good... But it's all for the benefit of art...

Upon closer inspection you could see the melted parts of the solid block of merging models that could creep you out... Wonder what's with the circular parts not melted though... Perhaps some creative design?

Some of the melted models are even made into a block which are melted all the way down to the base leaving the top intact... Looks like a cake which just got out from the oven... However this is just the beginning...

I guess melting the models just wasn't enough for this sadistic art form... They even chop it into many parts like slices of cake... Seriously I wouldn't want to put this in my house because of what you did to the models... which may haunt you in return for dissecting them apart...

However, some of the melted Gashapons are given a new life by melting them and reshaping it into a bigger model instead...

Once again they can be split up to form some kinda... Creative art piece for display. Kinda reminds me of body works where bodies are split into many parts for viewing except that this is by using Gashapons as replacement...
